Abstract

This article reviews two chapters from the book Muhammadiyah Best Practice, which documents exemplary school leadership practices within Muhammadiyah institutions in Central Java. The first chapter examines SD Muhammadiyah Sudagaran Wonosobo, while the second explores SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Andong Boyolali (SMADIPA). Employing a qualitative literature review approach with thematic analysis, the study is grounded in transformational leadership theory, focusing on four key dimensions: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The findings reveal that school leaders not only practice inspirational and value-based leadership, but also lead systemic innovation and institutional transformation. Based on these insights, the article proposes a new conceptual formulation termed Regenerative Educational Leadership, which defines leadership as a process of restoring school vitality and relevance through modeling, innovation, and personalized support.
