This study aims to analyze the implementation of the GATOTKACA Mutaba’ah Book in fostering students’ religious character and enhancing academic achievement at MIN 2 Sukoharjo. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore in depth the process, impact, and educational significance of the program. The primary objective of this study was to examine how the GATOTKACA (Gerakan Membatasi Menonton Televisi dan Bermain Gawai dengan Mengembangkan Budaya Membaca) program contributes to strengthening students’ religious character and improving their academic performance through structured monitoring and literacy habituation. The research involved 30 students selected purposively as research participants. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis. Data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques, while data analysis followed the interactive model of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the GATOTKACA Mutaba’ah Book significantly contributed to the development of students’ religious character, particularly in discipline, responsibility, and consistency in worship practices. Approximately 83% of students demonstrated improvement in religious behavioral indicators, while 76% showed increased reading intensity and reduced screen time. Furthermore, 70% of students experienced measurable improvement in academic performance, particularly in literacy-based subjects. The structured monitoring system embedded in the mutaba’ah book fostered self-regulated learning habits and strengthened the culture of reading within the school environment. Thus, the program effectively supports character education and academic development in Islamic elementary education.
