Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of the chain whispering game method in improving maharah istima' of class V Salafiyah Ula Jamilurrahman Yogyakarta students. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. This study aims to determine the application of the whispering game method in learning maharah istima' of grade V students at Salafiyah Ula Jamilurrahman Yogyakarta. The results showed that the application of the chain whispering game method was carried out in three stages, namely opening at the beginning of learning, core learning with games and closing. Although in the game whispering chains are in accordance with the steps, but there are still shortcomings in the implementation of the whispering chain game method including students who do not really understand Arabic vocabulary will be less fluent to pronounce the vocabulary heard and class conditions are too crowded and less conducive. While some of the advantages are evidenced by the increasing enthusiasm of class V students of Salafiyah Ula Jamilurrahman Yogyakarta and high activeness in participating in Arabic language learning with the method of whispering games in chains in maharah istima', pronunciation of Arabic vocabulary becomes more precise, and makes it easier for teachers to assess students who do not understand when learning takes place.
