Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Arabic language learning through the book Al-Qāriʾ Al-ʿArabiy by Dr. Muhammad Syairozi, Volume II, in honing Arabic language skills among 5th-grade students at Salafiyah Ula Islamic Center Bin Baz Putri Yogyakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this study is based on the importance of mastering Arabic as the primary key to understanding Islamic sciences and the challenges of learning Arabic as a foreign language, both from linguistic and non-linguistic aspects. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out inductively by examining the learning process, materials, methods, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in the use of the Al-Qāriʾ Al-ʿArabiy book, Volume II. The results showed that the implementation of learning with the Al-Qāriʾ Al-ʿArabiy book, Volume II, was able to improve students' Arabic language skills, especially in reading, writing, and understanding simple Arabic texts. This book is designed without harakat, requiring students to have a good foundation in nahwu and shorof and encouraging independent learning. Supporting factors for learning success include the quality of the book's material, the active role of teachers, and student motivation. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited understanding mastery, lack of motivation among some students, and varying Arabic language proficiency among students. This study is expected to contribute theoretically to the development of Arabic language learning strategies based on textbooks and serve as a practical reference for teachers and educational institutions in improving the quality of Arabic language learning at the elementary level.
